MDL Inc. CHIME Plugin

The Chime plugin for WWW browsers is getting a significant amount of attention. A new beta version 2 been released recently. Macintosh and PC (Windows 3.1, Windows 95) versions are available, as is an 8-bit color SGI Unix version. The latter is a bit clunky (will not work for 24-bit color machines without a kludge as of 8 Jan 98), but should be nice when the bugs are out. This is FREE for academic users and testers. An added bonus in the new version 2 will be support for linking spectral figures in various formats to animations and frames that contain info relevant to the mapped spectrum. The latter feature comes from Dr. Bob Lancashire of Univ. of the West Indies in Mona (Paul M. Lahti's first academic posting). See the BETA site for more information.
