All Chemistry Alumni - If you graduated from UMass anytime from the 1940s to the 2010s you knew George R. Richason, Jr. as professor, advisor, mentor or just plain friend.  If you graduated in the 1930s you would have known him as a fellow student.  Chemistry Professor George R. Richason, Jr, ’37, ‘39MS, ‘91HON was well known for many years for his accomplishments teaching, providing leadership for the department, contributing to alumni and athletic affairs, carrying the mace at graduation from 1975-2015, and many others almost too numerous to mention.  Come to the reunion and hear more about George and his imprint on the Department and University.

In celebration of their 50th reunion, the Class of 1967 has launched their 50th Reunion Gift Campaign.  The goal is to raise $175,000 for the naming rights to the main lobby of the newly renovated Old Chapel in honor of George.  The mace George carried at graduations from 1975 to 2015, was given to the University as the gift of the Class of ‘67.  The Class welcomes your donations to the Class of 1967 Old Chapel Lobby Fund and hopes you will join their efforts in reaching their goal of honoring one of the University’s and our department’s iconic faculty, George R. Richason, Jr. To make a donation in honor of George follow the giving web site link
