Our department is a leader in campus development of appropriate safety policies for our faculty, postdoctoral, graduate, and undergraduate researchers. We also have played a leadership role in development of the campus Environmental Management System for safe and sustainable operations on campus.

The links on these pages are provided to permit departmental members to have ready access to a variety general safety information (much of it developed by federal, state, and campus health and safety professionals), campus safety policies (overseen and assisted by Environmental Health & Safety personnel), and specific hazard information such as Material Safety Datasheets (MSDs).

We strongly urge all members of the department to become fully aware of the various information that is linked on this page, as part of our commitment to training young scientists to be responsible and safe in all of their research work. This will assist you in the yearly certification process required of all those working in the lab, or supervising such work.
