- The Chemistry
Department’s
Stockroom is managed professionally by Fisher Scientific.
It keeps an assortment laboratory supplies,
equipment and common chemicals. It is also the main site to pick
up arriving orders of chemicals, glassware, and consumables that
have requested through the stockroom or by online ordering.
It is conveniently located in Room 5A in the Lederle Graduate
Research Tower and is accessible Monday through Friday. The stockroom
provides services for the entire campus with personnel support
from both Fisher and the Chemistry Department. (577-2600)
- Chemistry IT Group - The department has
two full-time administrators maintaining the departmental servers
and network.
The Computer
Team supports many different platforms in all aspects
of teaching, research and administrative functions. Many of our
research groups have significant amounts of specialized equipment,
including several high-end graphic work stations. Requests
for advice and/or reporting problems can be submitted through
rapid response on-line
trouble-shooting help site, which is constantly monitored
during normal working hours.
- The Electronics Shop is
staffed by a full-time professional electrician who is responsible
for designing, constructing, maintaining and repairing a large
variety of specialized equipment used in both teaching and research
facilities. Their expertise in both digital and analog electronics,
as well as in computer and instrumentation interfacing, provides
a high degree of service to the Department. The E-Shop’s
excellent ability to design and build unique electronic equipment

- The Glassblowing Laboratory provides
highly skilled, professional advice and service from a full-time
professional glassblower. This fully-equipped facility maintains
a large stock of inventory for glassware repairs, as provides custom
design of more sophisticated research equipment. (A19 Lederle GRC,

- The Machine Shop,
a self-service facility maintained by the Chemistry Department,
provides faculty and graduate students who have proper training
to have direct access to equipment for fabricating parts and items
