The Physical Sciences and Engineering Library in the Lederle Research Graduate Center provides easy access to various science and engineering related journals. In addition to hard copy editions, most journals are accessible through the Internet. Researchers at UMass can also access journals in the surrounding Amherst, Smith, Mt. Holyoke, and Hampshire colleges. The Physical Sciences Library also subscribes to various electronic indices such as Web of Science, Science Citations Index, Beilstein, Medline and Chemical Abstracts. The library is also the official United States Patent and Trademark Depository Library for the University. The Department of Chemistry maintains a license for the Cambridge Structural Database, which contains structural data for organic and organometallic compounds studied by X-ray and neutron diffraction.
