A great strength of the UMass-Amherst campus is the diversity of chemical science related foci that are available through different programs and departments. This include the nationally number-one ranked Department of Polymer Science and Engineering, the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and the Department of Chemical Engineering. In combination with interdepartmental programs such as Molecular & Cellular Biology, the Chemistry-Biology Interface Program, and the NSF-Funded Materials Research, Science, and Engineering Center, our program offers tremendous flexibility and resources.
