2004
My wife (Lois Egan, MS Mathematics '69) and I visited
Minneapolis for the July 4th activities then on to Bismarck for our first
trip to North Dakota. We found interesting historical sites along the Lewis & Clark
expedition and fort Abraham Lincoln where General Custer left for
his ill-fated mission against theSioux. In August we visited Albuquerque
and Santa Fe, NM and saw many signs of the Franciscan and Jesuit
influence in the area. If you enjoy art and sculpture make a point
to visit Santa Fe. Following a trip to the picturesque city of
Durango, CO we drove to the 4-Corner's Monument (very interesting though
a bit remote) and back to Albuquerque. I enjoyed a AAA minor league
baseball game in a refurbished stadium. The southwest is interesting
to visit, but the countryside is a bit too brown to suit us. - Frank
