Electron spin resonance spectroscopy is a powerful tool for probing electron distributions, interelectronic exchange interactions, ground state spin multiplicities, and molecular structure for organic, inorganic, and hybrid systems that have unpaired electrons. The Lahti group has primary interest in the following areas of ESR (or EPR) spectroscpy:
- Computational modeling of open-shell molecules.
- Understanding and predicting spin density distributions in open-shell molecules.
- Generation and characterization of high-spin dinitrenes, trinitrenes, and polyradicals
- Simulation of glassy ESR spectra for 1 < S < 4 systems.
